Job Description

If so, the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Assistant Director for Gift Agreements, Compliance, and Endowment Stewardship. In this role, you will play a critical role in managing and stewarding the generous gifts and endowments that support Caltech's groundbreaking research and education. We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual with a strong understanding of gift agreements, compliance regulations, and endowment management.   • Develop and maintain gift agreement templates for various types of donations, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines and donor specifications
  • Oversee the execution of gift agreements, including coordinating with donors, legal counsel, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely processing
  • Monitor and track compliance with all gift agreements and report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate parties
  • Serve as the main point of contact for donors regarding gift agreements, providing prompt and professional communication and addressing any concerns or questions
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper accounting and tracking of endowed funds and compliance with endowment restrictions
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of gift agreements to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, providing regular updates on the impact of their gifts and stewarding them towards continued support
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to gift agreements and endowment management, and make recommendations for improvements or changes as necessary
  • Train and educate internal staff on gift agreement processes, compliance regulations, and endowment stewardship to ensure consistent and accurate execution of duties across the institution
  • Continuously evaluate and improve gift agreement and endowment stewardship processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in managing and stewarding donations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Or Finance.

  • At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Gift Agreement Management, Compliance, And Endowment Stewardship In A Higher Education Or Nonprofit Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Legal And Tax Regulations Related To Charitable Giving And Endowments.

  • Experience In Managing And Maintaining Complex Databases And Financial Systems.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders Including Donors, Faculty, And Senior Leadership.
