Waste Engineer

Works within an organization that provides engineering resources to support N3B waste management objectives and requirements for the compliant management of radioactive and hazardous waste streams. Responsible for compliant implementation of the N3B Conduct of Engineering and application of engineering principles to ensure that processes and procedures maintain compliance with disposal facility requirements for multiple waste types including, but not limited to: transuranic, low level, mixed waste, and hazardous waste. Under general supervision, develops and maintains waste data repository for all N3B managed waste streams, evaluates characterization data for adequacy and defines data quality requirements in coordination with the WIPP certified program and the N3B NNSS certified program. Under general supervision, defines treatment requirements for waste streams, and coordinates with operations to ensure that treatment processes meet programmatic requirements.
