Chemical Technologist

Perform established analytical chemistry determinations in a Quality Control Chemistry Lab - work is predominately inorganic in nature. Follow written and verbal instructions to meet required precision and accuracy requirements. Maintain process and procedural qualifications in area of cognizance. Weighs, measures and mixes both Uranium (for TRISO applications) and non-Uranium containing chemicals. Performs sample preparation through weighing, dissolving, diluting and furnace treating samples. Operates analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, Pycnometers, Surface Area Analyzers , automated titration units and IC units. Oversee, troubleshoot and perform established analytical chemistry determinations consistently and accurately. Trains new quality control technicians to perform analytical chemistry determinations. Perform calculations in order to complete assignments. Solves a variety of technical issues related to analytical chemistry determinations by collaborating with Quality Control Chemists.
