Job Description

At Burns & McDonnell, we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Transportation Planner to join our team and help us shape the future of transportation. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the industry, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have the ability to think clearly and analytically. The successful Transportation Planner will be an integral part of the project team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality plans and projects.The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, a minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation planning, and be knowledgeable in transportation planning principles, methods, and techniques. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop transportation plans and projects that meet the needs of clients and stakeholders.
  2. Analyze transportation data and utilize analytical tools to draw conclusions and develop solutions.
  3. Develop strategies for short-term and long-term transportation goals.
  4. Monitor and assess current and emerging transportation trends and technologies.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  6. Prepare reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
  7. Participate in professional and industry organizations to stay abreast of current trends and developments.
  8. Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure timely delivery.
  9. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
