- Oversee and monitor all safety protocols and procedures on project sites to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to develop and implement safety plans and risk assessments.
- Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and conduct regular refresher courses for existing employees.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents on project sites and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations regarding safety and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety among employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety incidents, trainings, and inspections.
- Develop emergency response plans and procedures and conduct drills to ensure preparedness in case of any emergencies.
- Act as a safety resource for employees and provide guidance and support on safety-related matters.
- Identify and implement cost-effective safety solutions to improve overall safety performance on project sites.
- Assist in the investigation of any safety-related complaints or concerns and take appropriate actions to address them.
- Collaborate with other departments within the company to develop and maintain company-wide safety policies and procedures.
- Strive to continuously improve safety performance and promote a positive safety culture within the organization.
Knowledge Of Occupational Health And Safety Regulations: A Safety Officer At Burns & Mcdonnell Must Possess A Thorough Understanding Of All Relevant Laws And Regulations Related To Workplace Safety, Including Osha Guidelines And Industry-Specific Standards.
Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Employees, Management, And Regulatory Agencies Is Essential For A Safety Officer. They Must Be Able To Clearly Convey Safety Protocols, Provide Training, And Address Any Safety Concerns Or Violations.
Experience With Risk Assessment And Hazard Identification: The Safety Officer Should Have Experience Conducting Risk Assessments And Identifying Potential Hazards In The Workplace. This Includes The Ability To Develop And Implement Safety Procedures To Mitigate Or Eliminate These Hazards.
Attention To Detail: A Safety Officer Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure All Safety Protocols Are Being Followed Correctly. They Should Be Able To Identify Potential Safety Hazards And Address Them Before They Become A Problem.
