Job Description

Burns & McDonnell is looking for a motivated and experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and modifying geographic data and related information systems.We are looking for an individual with an extensive knowledge of GIS principles, concepts, and practices, as well as substantial experience with GIS software. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience working with GIS software is required. Experience with Python scripting, ArcGIS Pro, and SQL is highly valued.If you have a passion for GIS and a commitment to excellence, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain GIS software and systems.
  2. Create and modify geographic data and related information systems.
  3. Design, implement, and evaluate GIS-based applications.
  4. Monitor GIS data quality and accuracy.
  5. Analyze and interpret spatial data.
  6. Research and recommend new GIS technologies or trends.
  7. Train and provide technical support and guidance to GIS users.
  8. Develop and apply best practices for GIS operations and data management.
  9. Prepare applicable documentation associated with GIS operations and data.
  10. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify GIS needs.
