
Environmental Planner
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a talented and motivated Environmental Planner to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the environment and eager to make meaningful contributions to the development of our projects.The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of environmental regulations and laws. They should have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Ecology, or related field, as well as at least five years of experience in environmental planning. Expertise in water resources, air quality, and permitting processes are a plus.The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should be able to work independently and take initiative in all aspects of the job. They should be comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities:
- Manage environmental planning projects with a focus on water resources, air quality, and permitting processes
- Monitor and interpret environmental regulations and laws and ensure compliance with them
- Prepare environmental assessments and reports
- Conduct research and analysis to identify potential environmental impacts of proposed projects
- Develop mitigation strategies to address any identified environmental concerns
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement environmental management plans
- Facilitate public hearings and workshops related to the projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other parties involved in the projects
- Monitor and evaluate project progress and adapt plans as needed
- Prepare project summaries and other documents for regulatory agencies
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance
