Environmental Planner

Burns & McDonnell is looking for an experienced Environmental Planner to join our team of professionals. We are looking for a mission-driven individual with a passion for environmental planning who wants to make a difference in the world. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Planning, Urban Design, or related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the environmental planning field. The successful candidate should have knowledge of land use, zoning and environmental regulations, and experience with project management and public outreach. The Environmental Planner should also have excellent communication and problem solving skills. We are looking for an individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement environmental planning strategies to meet project goals and objectives • Evaluate land use, zoning and environmental regulations • Develop environmental plans and reports for projects • Work with local, state, and federal agencies to secure approval for projects • Conduct public outreach and engage stakeholders in the environmental planning process • Provide technical expertise in environmental planning • Manage environmental planning projects from start to finish • Monitor and report project progress • Develop and maintain relationships with external consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders • Utilize strong communication and problem solving skills to resolve issues • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
