
Environmental Planner
At Burns & McDonnell, we are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Environmental Planner who is passionate about ensuring the development of sustainable and successful projects. This individual should have a strong background in environmental sciences, permitting, and compliance, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who is able to develop new strategies to effectively meet business needs.We are seeking a professional who is able to work independently and can take initiative to identify and resolve issues. The successful candidate will be organized and detail-oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Environmental Planner must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working with all levels of management.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in environmental planning or a related field. Knowledge and experience in air quality, waste management, water resources, and environmental compliance regulations is a must. Additionally, the Environmental Planner should have experience with environmental permitting and environmental analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to effectively meet business needs and ensure the development of sustainable and successful projects.
- Analyze environmental permitting and environmental analyses and identify and resolve related issues.
- Maintain knowledge of air quality, waste management, water resources, and environmental compliance regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct research on environmental projects and develop plans accordingly.
- Effectively communicate findings to management and other stakeholders.
- Monitor environmental compliance activities and report findings to the appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure project success.
