Welcome to Burns & McDonnell! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to join our Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in the food and beverage industry, utilizing your expertise in automation and controls systems to optimize processes and enhance efficiency. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about innovation and has a strong understanding of automation and controls in the food and beverage sector.   1. Design and develop automation and controls systems for projects in the food and beverage industry.
  2. Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and develop solutions.
  3. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify the most effective and efficient automation and controls systems for each project.
  4. Create detailed project plans and timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  5. Provide technical expertise and support to project teams throughout all phases of the project.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the design, development, and implementation of automation and controls systems.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in automation and controls technology, and make recommendations for incorporating new systems and processes.
  8. Conduct testing and validation of automation and controls systems to ensure they meet project requirements and specifications.
  9. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders and team members.
  10. Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians on automation and controls systems and processes.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations when designing and implementing automation and controls systems.
  12. Continuously strive to improve processes and optimize efficiency in the food and beverage industry through automation and controls systems.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
  14. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source necessary equipment and components for projects.
  15. Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Automation And Controls Engineering, Preferably In The Food And Beverage Industry

  • Proficiency In Plc Programming And Hmi Design, As Well As Experience With Process Control Systems Such As Scada

  • Strong Knowledge Of Food And Beverage Industry Regulations And Standards, Such As Fda And Usda Requirements

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work In A Team Environment And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
