Job Description

At Burns & McDonnell, we are looking for an Assistant Developer - Aviation & Federal with an innovative and creative mindset, ready to take on the challenges of creating technical solutions to support our clients’ projects. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for aviation, a commitment to excellence and a desire to develop their technical skills.We are seeking an individual who is eager to learn, has excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of software engineering best practices. We need an individual who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and have at least two years of experience in developing software and applications for aviation and/or federal projects. In addition, experience in the aviation industry is a plus.We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication skills, and has the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have a “can-do” attitude, and be highly organized. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop software and applications for aviation and/or federal projects.
  2. Learn and understand aviation industry standards and regulations.
  3. Utilize software engineering best practices.
  4. Analyze project requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements.
  5. Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  6. Manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  7. Ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  8. Utilize problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues.
  9. Stay up to date on industry trends and technologies.
  10. Participate in design and code reviews.
