
Store Associate - Shortage Control

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Store Associate to join our team as a Shortage Control Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safety and profitability of our store by identifying and preventing theft and fraud. - Monitor and identify potential theft and fraud activities within the store.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Utilize surveillance equipment and observations to detect suspicious behavior and report any findings to management.
- Collaborate with store management to develop and implement strategies to prevent loss and minimize shrinkage.
- Train and educate other store associates on theft prevention techniques and procedures.
- Review and investigate incidents of theft or fraud, gather evidence, and report to appropriate authorities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all incidents and investigations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management regarding potential theft and fraud concerns.
- Work closely with other departments, such as loss prevention and inventory control, to ensure a coordinated effort in preventing and detecting loss.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in shortage control and make recommendations for improvement.
- Display a positive and professional attitude towards customers and team members at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Participate in store meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience In Loss Prevention: A Qualified Store Associate For Shortage Control At Burlington Stores Should Have Experience In Loss Prevention, Such As Identifying And Deterring Theft, Conducting Investigations, And Implementing Security Measures.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Store Associate For Shortage Control, Strong Communication Skills Are Essential. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Customers, Coworkers, And Management In A Professional And Courteous Manner.
Attention To Detail: In Order To Prevent And Detect Theft, A Store Associate For Shortage Control Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail. This Includes Being Able To Identify Suspicious Behavior, Accurately Review Inventory, And Maintain Accurate Records.
Knowledge Of Store Operations: To Effectively Control Shortage, A Store Associate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Store Operations, Including Inventory Management, Point-Of-Sale Systems, And Store Layout. This Knowledge Is Crucial In Identifying Areas Of Risk And Implementing Effective Prevention Strategies.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Retail Industry Can Be Fast-Paced And Demanding, And A Store Associate For Shortage Control Must Be Able To Thrive In This Environment. This Includes Being Able To Handle Multiple Tasks, Work Efficiently Under Pressure, And Adapt To Changing Priorities.
