Job Description

At Burlington Stores, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Retail Store Closing Lead. As a Closing Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the store is ready for the next day's business by managing the closing procedures and leading a team of associates.   1. Manage store closing procedures: The Retail Store Closing Lead will be responsible for ensuring all closing procedures are properly executed, including cash handling, securing the store, and completing necessary paperwork.
  2. Lead a team of associates: The Closing Lead will supervise a team of associates, delegating tasks and ensuring they are completed accurately and efficiently.
  3. Maintain store standards: This role is responsible for ensuring the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked for the next day's business. This includes overseeing the cleaning and restocking processes and addressing any issues that arise.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service: The Closing Lead will be expected to uphold Burlington's commitment to providing excellent customer service, both to customers and fellow associates. They will handle any customer inquiries or issues that arise during closing procedures.
  5. Communicate effectively: Effective communication is crucial in this role, as the Closing Lead will need to communicate with both customers and associates, as well as with other members of management.
  6. Train and develop associates: The Retail Store Closing Lead will be responsible for training new associates on closing procedures and providing ongoing coaching and development to their team.
  7. Ensure accuracy and efficiency: The Closing Lead will be expected to have a strong attention to detail and to ensure all closing procedures are completed accurately and efficiently.
  8. Uphold store policies and procedures: It is the responsibility of the Closing Lead to ensure all associates are following store policies and procedures, including safety protocols, at all times.
  9. Collaborate with other team members: This role will require collaboration with other members of the store management team to ensure a smooth transition between closing and opening procedures.
  10. Monitor and report any issues: The Closing Lead will be responsible for identifying and reporting any issues that arise during closing procedures, such as maintenance needs or inventory discrepancies.

Job Qualifications
  • Prior Retail Experience: A Qualified Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Retail Environment, Preferably In A Leadership Role. This Will Ensure They Are Familiar With Store Operations And Can Effectively Lead A Team.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Retail Store Closing Lead, The Candidate Will Need To Communicate With Both Customers And Team Members. They Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.

  • Organizational Skills: This Role Requires The Candidate To Oversee The Closing Procedures Of The Store, Ensuring That All Tasks Are Completed Accurately And Efficiently. Strong Organizational Skills Are Essential To Keep Track Of Various Tasks And Delegate Responsibilities To Team Members.

  • Time Management Abilities: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Excellent Time Management Skills To Ensure That The Store Is Closed On Time And All Closing Procedures Are Completed Within The Allocated Time Frame. This Will Require The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Handle Unexpected Situations.

  • Leadership Qualities: As A Part-Time Retail Store Closing Lead, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Associates. They Should Have Strong Leadership Qualities, Including The Ability To Motivate, Train, And Provide Guidance To Team Members To Ensure A Smooth And Successful Closing Shift.
