Job Description

If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you! Burlington Stores is seeking a part-time Retail Shortage Control associate to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in preventing loss and maintaining inventory accuracy.   1. Conduct regular store audits to identify potential areas of loss and implement strategies to prevent theft and fraud.
  2. Monitor inventory levels and work with management to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  3. Utilize surveillance equipment to monitor store activity and identify suspicious behavior.
  4. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement loss prevention policies and procedures.
  5. Train and educate store associates on proper theft prevention techniques and procedures.
  6. Conduct investigations into suspected theft and fraud, including reviewing security footage and interviewing suspects.
  7. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all loss prevention activities.
  8. Communicate with law enforcement and legal teams as needed for any criminal or legal matters.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new techniques for loss prevention.
  10. Assist with customer service as needed, including handling difficult situations with professionalism and discretion.
  11. Work closely with other departments, such as operations and merchandising, to ensure proper inventory management and accuracy.
  12. Continuously monitor store procedures and processes to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to management.
  13. Serve as a role model for ethical and responsible behavior among store associates.
  14. Maintain a safe and secure work environment by adhering to all safety and security protocols.
  15. Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Knowledge Of Retail Loss Prevention Techniques: A Qualified Candidate For A Retail Shortage Control - Part Time Job Should Have A Good Understanding Of Common Retail Loss Prevention Techniques Such As Cctv Monitoring, Inventory Management, And Employee Training.

  • Strong Attention To Detail: As A Part Of The Shortage Control Team, The Candidate Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Identify Any Potential Theft Or Fraud In The Store. This Includes Being Able To Spot Discrepancies In Inventory Or Suspicious Behavior From Customers Or Employees.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Both Customers And Fellow Team Members Is Crucial For This Role. This Includes Being Able To De-Escalate Potentially Volatile Situations And Report Any Issues To Management.

  • Physical Fitness: This Job May Require Standing For Long Periods, As Well As Lifting And Moving Heavy Items. Therefore, A Qualified Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Previous Retail Experience: Prior Experience In A Retail Setting, Particularly In A Loss Prevention Or Security Role, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Understanding Of Retail Operations And Their Ability To Handle Challenging Situations.
