Job Description

"Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for retail? Do you have experience in loss prevention or inventory control? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a part-time Retail Shortage Control associate at Burlington Stores! As a member of our dedicated team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and profitability of our store by identifying and preventing inventory shortages.   1. Conduct regular inventory audits to identify potential shortages and discrepancies.
  2. Implement and maintain loss prevention strategies to prevent inventory shortages.
  3. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement effective shortage control procedures.
  4. Monitor and investigate suspicious activities and behaviors that could lead to inventory shrinkage.
  5. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and shortage incidents.
  6. Communicate any identified shortage risks to management and provide recommendations for improvement.
  7. Train and educate other store employees on loss prevention and shortage control measures.
  8. Act as a point of contact for any loss prevention-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  9. Conduct thorough investigations into reported shortage incidents and provide detailed reports.
  10. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and techniques for loss prevention and inventory control.
  11. Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information related to inventory and loss prevention.
  12. Work independently and efficiently to meet assigned shortage control goals and targets.
  13. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a smooth and efficient shortage control process.
  14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to shortage control and loss prevention.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve shortage control processes to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Previous Experience In Retail Or Loss Prevention: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Retail Environment Or In A Loss Prevention Role. This Will Demonstrate An Understanding Of The Retail Industry And The Importance Of Shortage Control.

  • Strong Observation And Attention To Detail Skills: As A Retail Shortage Control Associate, It Is Important To Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Observe Customer Behavior And Store Activity In Order To Identify Potential Theft Or Fraud.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Position Will Require Interacting With Customers, Store Associates, And Management, So Strong Communication Skills Are Essential. The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Build Relationships With Others Is Crucial For Success In This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Techniques And Procedures: A Candidate With Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Techniques And Procedures Will Have An Advantage In This Role. This Can Include Knowledge Of Surveillance Systems, Inventory Control, And Store Security Procedures.

  • Flexibility And Availability For Evening And Weekend Shifts: Retail Shortage Control Associates Often Work During Peak Shopping Hours, Which Can Include Evenings And Weekends. A Candidate With A Flexible Schedule And Availability To Work During These Times Will Be Preferred.
