- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components.
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive supplier quality management program to ensure that all suppliers meet Mercury Marine's quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits of suppliers to evaluate their quality systems, processes, and products.
- Collaborate with the purchasing and engineering teams to identify potential suppliers and perform supplier evaluations to determine their suitability for partnership with Mercury Marine.
- Negotiate and monitor supplier quality agreements and contracts to ensure compliance with established quality requirements and standards.
- Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and performance metrics to track and report on supplier quality and reliability.
- Lead and participate in supplier development activities, including providing guidance on quality systems and processes, to improve overall supplier performance.
- Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, working closely with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality management practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement of Mercury Marine's supplier quality program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to supplier quality.
- Train and mentor team members on supplier quality management processes and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to provide feedback, address concerns, and maintain a positive working relationship.
- Represent Mercury Marine at supplier conferences and events to enhance our brand and build strong partnerships within the industry.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures and encourage a safe and healthy work environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Quality Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Supplier Quality Management, Preferably In The Marine Industry.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Quality Control Principles, Processes, And Tools.
Experience With Iso 9001 And Other Relevant Quality Standards.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Develop A Team.
