Job Description

Welcome to Freedom Boat Club - Homosassa Springs Marina, FL at Brunswick! We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Dock Master to join our team and help provide exceptional service to our members. Our club offers a unique boating experience, allowing our members to enjoy the freedom of boating without the hassle of ownership. As the Dock Master, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the marina and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our members. We are seeking a candidate with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the boating lifestyle.   1. Oversee and manage daily operations of the marina, including boat docking, fueling, and maintenance.
  2. Ensure all boats are properly secured and docked in designated areas.
  3. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, including fuel, cleaning products, and safety equipment.
  4. Communicate with members and guests to provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or issues.
  5. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed, including proper use of life jackets and adherence to boating regulations.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized marina, including regular trash removal and upkeep of facilities.
  7. Coordinate with maintenance and repair teams to ensure timely and efficient servicing of boats and equipment.
  8. Train and supervise dock hands to ensure proper procedures and customer service standards are met.
  9. Keep accurate records of boat usage, maintenance, and member requests.
  10. Assist with member orientations and provide information on marina services and amenities.
  11. Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute marina events and activities.
  12. Continuously monitor and report any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs to management.
  13. Stay up-to-date on boating regulations and safety guidelines to ensure compliance and provide knowledgeable assistance to members.
  14. Participate in regular meetings and trainings to stay informed on club policies and procedures.
  15. Serve as a positive ambassador for the club, promoting the benefits of membership and the boating lifestyle.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Boat Handling And Maintenance: The Dock Master Should Have A Strong Background In Boating And Be Knowledgeable In Boat Handling And Maintenance To Ensure The Safety And Proper Care Of The Club's Fleet.

  • Customer Service Skills: As The Main Point Of Contact For Members, The Dock Master Should Possess Excellent Customer Service Skills And Be Able To Handle Member Inquiries, Concerns, And Requests In A Professional And Timely Manner.

  • Leadership And Management Experience: The Dock Master Will Oversee A Team Of Dockhands And Should Have Previous Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role, With The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance, And Ensure Efficient Operations.

  • Knowledge Of Local Waterways And Regulations: Familiarity With The Homosassa Springs Marina And Surrounding Waterways Is Essential For The Dock Master, As They Will Be Responsible For Ensuring Compliance With Local Boating Regulations And Safety Protocols.

  • Strong Organizational And Communication Skills: The Dock Master Must Be Highly Organized And Able To Effectively Communicate With Both Team Members And Club Members. They Will Also Be Responsible For Maintaining Accurate Records And Schedules For Boat Reservations And Maintenance.
