- Develop and maintain the observability platform for Box's cloud content management and collaboration platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize key metrics and data points for monitoring and alerting.
- Design and implement scalable and efficient solutions for collecting, processing, and analyzing data from various systems and services.
- Continuously improve and optimize the observability platform to ensure the highest level of performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to monitoring and observability, both proactively and reactively.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in observability tools and techniques, and make recommendations for implementing them at Box.
- Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate observability into the development process and promote a culture of proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize new features and enhancements for the observability platform.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team, and contribute to the overall technical growth and excellence of the team.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on the status of observability initiatives and any potential risks or issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical incidents related to observability.
- Uphold high standards of code quality, performance, and security throughout the development process.
- Contribute to the overall success of Box by actively participating in team meetings, sharing knowledge and ideas, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science Or Related Field: A Strong Background In Computer Science Is Essential For A Software Engineer, Observability Role At Box. This Degree Provides A Foundation In Programming, Algorithms, Data Structures, And Other Key Concepts Necessary For Developing And Maintaining Software Systems.
Proficiency In Programming Languages And Technologies: Box May Require Proficiency In Specific Programming Languages Such As Java, Python, Or Go, As Well As Experience With Technologies Such As Docker, Kubernetes, And Cloud Platforms Like Aws Or Azure.
