- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring open communication and collaboration to drive quality and performance improvements.
- Lead supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with Boston Scientific's quality standards and requirements.
- Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement supplier quality agreements and ensure they are properly communicated and adhered to by all parties.
- Conduct supplier quality system reviews to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier quality issues and implement preventive measures.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve supplier quality processes and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers to ensure they meet Boston Scientific's quality standards.
- Participate in the selection and qualification of new suppliers, including conducting audits and evaluating their capabilities.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality performance reports to communicate to management and other stakeholders.
- Lead and participate in supplier related projects, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to supplier quality.
- Train and mentor junior supplier quality engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supplier quality management processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any supplier-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field: A Principal Supplier Quality Engineer At Boston Scientific Should Have A Strong Technical Background, Preferably With A Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Solid Understanding Of Quality Assurance And Can Effectively Evaluate Supplier Processes And Products.
Minimum Of 8-10 Years Of Experience In Supplier Quality Engineering: Boston Scientific Requires Its Principal Supplier Quality Engineers To Have A Significant Amount Of Experience In The Field. This Experience Should Include Working With Suppliers, Managing Quality Issues, And Implementing Corrective Actions.
Knowledge Of Quality Management Systems And Standards: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Quality Management Systems Such As Iso 13485 And Fda Regulations. They Should Also Be Familiar With Industry Standards And Best Practices In Supplier Quality Management.
Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: The Role Of A Principal Supplier Quality Engineer Involves Identifying And Resolving Quality Issues With Suppliers.
