  1. Lead the development and implementation of human factors engineering strategies for the design and development of medical devices.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure human factors considerations are integrated throughout the product development process.
  3. Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and identify user needs and requirements.
  4. Analyze and interpret data from usability testing and incorporate findings into product design.
  5. Develop and maintain design control documentation in compliance with FDA regulations and industry standards.
  6. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior human factors engineers on best practices and processes.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in human factors engineering.
  8. Communicate and present human factors engineering plans, progress, and findings to stakeholders and leadership.
  9. Work closely with marketing and product teams to understand market needs and product requirements.
  10. Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure human factors engineering documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  11. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the user experience of existing products.
  12. Represent the company at conferences, workshops, and industry events to promote our human factors engineering capabilities.
  13. Uphold the company's commitment to patient safety and product quality by following all relevant procedures and regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Principal Human Factors Engineer At Boston Scientific Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Human Factors, Psychology, Engineering, Or A Related Field. A Phd Is Preferred.

  • Relevant Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In Human Factors Engineering, With A Strong Background In Medical Device Development. Experience With User-Centered Design, Usability Testing, And Human Factors Regulations Is Required.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Principal Engineer, The Candidate Should Have Experience Leading And Managing A Team Of Human Factors Engineers. They Should Also Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, As They Will Need To Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams.

  • Technical Expertise: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Human Factors Principles And Methodologies, As Well As Experience Applying Them To Medical Device Development. They Should Also Have Experience With Human Factors Tools And Software.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Boston Scientific Is A Highly Regulated Industry, So The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Fda And International Human Factors Regulations And Guidelines. Experience With Conducting Human Factors Validation Studies And Preparing Regulatory Submissions Is A Plus.
