Maintain the Transfer Station/Recycling Center to ensure proper segregation of materials. Collect trash & recyclable materials throughout plant and facilitate the transport of material to Recycling Center for processing. Understand and implement solid waste rules and recycling procedures. Conduct visual inspection of loads to prevent improper disposal or improper recycling. Sort food waste, trash & recyclable materials including plastics, glass, paper, cardboard, metals, aluminum, wood, green waste, etc. to maximize recycling revenue. Monitor access to the recycling area. Operate recycling equipment including trash compactor, shredding machine, baling equipment, and small hand tools and power equipment. Assist with coordinating off-site removal of processed recyclables. Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the waste disposal and recycling area.
