Pharmacy Technician

At BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, we are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Pharmacy Technician will work directly with our Pharmacist to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of medication to our members. To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Pharmacist in preparing and filling prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Verify prescription orders against the physician’s instructions and patient records.
3. Receive, enter, and process prescription orders into the pharmacy computer system.
4. Maintain records of medications dispensed and reconcile with inventory levels.
5. Ensure that all prescriptions are filled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
6. Assist customers with inquiries, advice, and select medications.
7. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
8. Monitor and maintain the security of the pharmacy.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
10. Participate in continuing education courses and seminars to stay up to date with developments in pharmaceuticals.
