Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the team at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the pharmacists in a variety of pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will be patient-oriented and have a great attention to detail. Responsibilities:

1. Assist pharmacists in providing customer service, including answering customer questions and providing advice on medications.
2. Receive and process prescriptions, including entering patient data into the computer system and verifying accuracy of information.
3. Prepare medications for dispensing, including measuring, counting, and pouring medications.
4. Ensure customer safety by following department protocols and procedures.
5. Maintain inventory control, including ordering and tracking medications and supplies.
6. Assist in the billing process, including verifying insurance information and processing payments.
7. Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries.
8. Follow all safety and security guidelines established by the pharmacy.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
