
Medical Coding Specialist

Additionally, you will be required to communicate with providers to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records.The ideal candidate for this role will have an Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology or a related field, with at least three years of experience in medical coding. A comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding fundamentals, as well as an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential. We are looking for someone with strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Responsibilities:
- Accurately code and abstract inpatient and outpatient medical records for reimbursement and data collection.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records.
- Utilize ICD-10-CM and CPT coding fundamentals and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Develop and maintain strong communication and organizational skills.
- Manage multiple priorities in a compassionate and detail-oriented manner.
- Ensure compliance with insurance and claims regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate coding.
- Monitor and update medical coding procedures and protocols.
- Participate in continuing education and training activities.
- Maintain documentation of all coding activities.
