Job Description

As a Senior Provider Relations Representative at Blue Shield of California, you will be an integral part of our Provider Relations team. This role requires a unique combination of outstanding customer service, expert analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to work with healthcare providers, industry stakeholders, and internal departments to ensure successful relationships with our providers.To be successful in this role, you must possess a minimum of five years of provider relations experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in the managed care setting. You must have in-depth knowledge of contracting, reimbursement, credentialing, and operations, and must be proficient with MS Office Suite and other database software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to build relationships and manage expectations in a positive and professional manner. You must also be a self-starter who is able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with healthcare providers, industry stakeholders, and internal departments.
  2. Coordinate the contracting, credentialing, and reimbursement processes for providers.
  3. Analyze data and trends to identify areas of improvement in provider relations.
  4. Monitor operations and performance to ensure compliance with established standards.
  5. Resolve provider issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Manage multiple priorities and provide timely updates to internal departments.
  7. Communicate effectively with providers and stakeholders to ensure successful relationships.
  8. Act as a liaison between providers and internal departments.
  9. Utilize MS Office Suite and other database software to effectively manage provider relations.
  10. Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
