
Healthcare Compliance Specialist
Blue Shield of California is looking for an experienced Healthcare Compliance Specialist to help ensure our organization is in compliance with all relevant healthcare laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry and a keen eye for detail. We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and analytical skills.As a Healthcare Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance programs to ensure the organization is in compliance with regulations such as HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, and other applicable laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for monitoring internal procedures and advising management on best practices. The successful candidate will be able to analyze and interpret applicable laws and regulations and prepare reports and presentations to be presented to internal and external stakeholders.The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as healthcare administration, public health, law, or business. A law degree or a healthcare compliance certification is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in healthcare compliance or risk management is also required. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure organization is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor internal procedures and advise management on best practices.
- Analyze and interpret applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports and presentations to be presented to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of changes to healthcare laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and respond to compliance-related complaints.
- Create policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide training and education to staff on relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor compliance activities and review audit results.
