Occupational Health & Safety Specialist

Manages the worker’s compensation claims administration process between BDG and Carrier/TPA; attends all Claim Reviews. Establishes relationships with medical facilities for use by employees at each location. Periodically meet with medical staff to review complex cases and ensure open communication. Communicates frequently with safety managers, location managers, injured workers, insurance adjusters as claims dictate to ensure continuity of claims. Communicates with Defense Counsel as needed; participate in Industrial Commission Hearings and Medications. Partners with HR on leave management, ADA and FMLA as it relates to workers’ compensation claims. Maintains documentation to satisfy all statutory and BDG guidelines. Presents training for new Hire Orientation and Supervisors. Administers the DOT process / compliance. Communicates to location leaders and/Health & Safety Mgrs. on non-compliance. Communicates with designated parties regarding workers’ compensation claims to facilitate claims management and workers’ compensation process.
