- Design and develop innovative solutions to support the data infrastructure for Bloomberg's financial products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain complex data systems, ensuring their performance, scalability, and reliability
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on the team
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding best practices and standards
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies, methodologies, and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders
- Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data technologies to drive innovation within the team and the company as a whole
- Proactively identify and address potential system bottlenecks and performance issues
- Collaborate with other teams within Bloomberg to ensure seamless integration and smooth functioning of data systems
- Act as a subject matter expert in data technologies and provide technical guidance to other teams and stakeholders as needed.
Extensive Experience In Data Infrastructure: A Senior Software Engineer At Bloomberg Should Have A Strong Background In Building And Maintaining Data Infrastructure, Including Databases, Data Pipelines, And Data Storage Systems.
Proficiency In Programming Languages And Tools: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Proficient In Programming Languages Such As Java, Python, And Sql, As Well As Have Experience With Data Processing And Analytics Tools Such As Hadoop And Spark.
