  1. Monitor and maintain the transmission equipment, ensuring that it is functioning properly at all times.
  2. Operate and troubleshoot various transmission systems, including satellite, fiber, and IP networks.
  3. Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely and seamless transmission of live broadcasts.
  4. Monitor incoming and outgoing signals to ensure high-quality audio and video transmission.
  5. Perform regular tests and checks to ensure the integrity of the transmission systems.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during live broadcasts.
  7. Keep accurate records of transmission activities and report any issues or errors to the appropriate teams.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest broadcast technology and implement new systems and processes as needed.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  10. Adhere to all industry regulations and company policies related to broadcasting and transmission.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all equipment is properly stored.
  12. Work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
  13. Collaborate with other Master Control Operators to ensure smooth handoff between shifts.
  14. Continuously monitor and adjust audio and video levels for optimal broadcast quality.
  15. Provide support and assistance to other team members as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Broadcast Equipment And Software: A Master Control Transmissions Operator At Bloomberg Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of All Broadcast Equipment And Software Used In A Television Broadcast Environment. This Includes Automation Systems, Servers, Switchers, Routers, And Graphics Software.

  • Experience In Live Broadcast Operations: Candidates Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Live Broadcasts, Including Breaking News Events, From The Control Room. This Requires The Ability To Think On Your Feet, Troubleshoot Technical Issues, And Work Efficiently Under Pressure.

  • Familiarity With Fcc Broadcast Regulations: As A Master Control Transmissions Operator, You Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That All Broadcast Content Complies With Fcc Regulations. This Requires A Thorough Understanding Of Fcc Guidelines And The Ability To Make Real-Time Decisions To Ensure Compliance.

  • Strong Attention To Detail: A Successful Master Control Transmissions Operator Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Spot Errors Or Issues Before They Go On Air. This Includes Monitoring Audio And Video Quality, Checking For Spelling And Grammar Errors In Graphics, And Verifying All Content Is Correct And In The Proper Format.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: Bloomberg Is A 24/7 News Network, And As Such, The Master Control Transmissions Operator Must Be Willing To Work A Variety Of Shifts, Including Nights, Weekends, And Holidays. This Requires A Flexible Schedule And The Ability To Adapt To Changing Broadcast Needs.
