  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legislation.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate privacy risks in Bloomberg's products, services, and business operations.
  3. Advise on privacy-related matters including data collection, use, sharing, and retention.
  4. Review and draft privacy policies, notices, and other related documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Conduct privacy impact assessments and provide guidance on data protection impact assessments.
  6. Monitor and track changes in privacy laws and regulations, and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  7. Serve as the main point of contact for data privacy inquiries and requests from internal and external parties.
  8. Lead training and awareness initiatives to promote a culture of data privacy across the organization.
  9. Work closely with the legal team to review and negotiate privacy-related contracts and agreements.
  10. Maintain records of data processing activities and assist with data subject access requests.
  11. Provide guidance and support to Bloomberg employees on privacy-related matters.
  12. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement of data privacy policies and procedures.
  13. Represent Bloomberg in external privacy-related events and forums.
  14. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with privacy policies and procedures.
  15. Proactively identify potential privacy risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Data Privacy Laws: A Data Privacy Counsel At Bloomberg Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Global Data Privacy Laws, Including Gdpr, Ccpa, And Other Relevant Regulations.

  • Legal Background: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Law Degree And Be Admitted To Practice Law In At Least One Jurisdiction. A Strong Background In Corporate Law, Data Protection, Or Technology Law Is Preferred.

  • Experience With Data Privacy Compliance: The Data Privacy Counsel Should Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Data Privacy Compliance Programs, Including Data Mapping, Privacy Impact Assessments, And Privacy By Design Principles.

  • Communication And Stakeholder Management Skills: This Role Requires Excellent Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Legal Concepts To Non-Legal Stakeholders. The Data Privacy Counsel Will Also Be Responsible For Managing Relationships With Government Agencies, Regulators, And External Legal Counsel.

  • Business Acumen: The Data Privacy Counsel Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Business Operations And Strategies Of Bloomberg, As Well As The Ability To Apply Legal And Regulatory Requirements In A Practical And Efficient Manner That Aligns With The Company's Goals And Objectives.
