
Unit Secretary - Emergency Services

- Manage and maintain patient charts and records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other departments within the hospital.
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and tests for patients.
- Monitor and order supplies for the emergency department.
- Assist with admitting and discharging patients.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Accurately transcribe physician orders and maintain patient records.
- Keep track of patient census and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of electronic medical records.

This Will Ensure They Are Accustomed To Handling High-Stress Situations And Can Keep Up With The Demands Of The Job.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: It Is Essential For A Unit Secretary To Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures In Order To Accurately Transcribe Physician Orders, Communicate With Healthcare Professionals, And Maintain Patient Records.
