Job Description

At BJC HealthCare, we are seeking experienced and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Trauma Surgery Patient Care Technician. Reporting to the Trauma Surgery Team, this position is responsible for providing direct patient care in accordance with department and hospital standards and policies. The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications: current BLS/CPR certification, successful completion of a Nursing Assistant program, experience in a medical setting, and the ability to interpret and implement medical instructions. Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment is also preferred.You should have a passion for providing quality, compassionate care and a commitment to excellent customer service in order to help us deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care in accordance with department and hospital standards and policies.
  2. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a commitment to compassionate care.
  3. Interpret and implement medical instructions as instructed.
  4. Utilize medical terminology correctly and accurately.
  5. Maintain current BLS/CPR certification.
  6. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of medical procedures and protocols.
  8. Monitor patient progress and document changes in health status.
  9. Assist with daily living activities and provide emotional support to patients and families.
  10. Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
