Job Description

BJC HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Transplant Program Assistant to join our team and support our renowned transplant program. In this role, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide administrative and logistical support, ensuring the smooth operation of our program.   1. Provide administrative support to the transplant program by maintaining accurate and organized records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
  2. Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate communication and ensure timely and efficient patient care.
  3. Assist with patient intake and registration, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Coordinate and maintain transplant program calendars, including scheduling of surgeries, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
  5. Assist in obtaining necessary insurance authorizations and maintaining accurate billing records.
  6. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the transplant team, providing compassionate and responsive communication and addressing any concerns or questions that may arise.
  7. Coordinate and assist with patient education and support groups, as well as community outreach efforts.
  8. Assist with data collection and analysis to support program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations in handling patient information.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and advances in transplant care.
  11. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of care for transplant patients.
  12. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting teamwork and exhibiting a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills.

  • 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Transplant Program.

  • Knowledge Of Transplant Procedures And Regulations, Including Unos Guidelines.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Handle Sensitive And Confidential Information.
