Surgical Technologist

At BJC HealthCare, we are looking for a Surgical Technologist to join our team and help us provide world-class care to our patients. This role requires a combination of clinical and technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology, a current certification as a Surgical Technologist, and at least two years of recent experience in a surgical setting. Additionally, they must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Responsibilities: • Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies. • Ensure that all supplies and instruments are sterile and properly functioning. • Monitor the patient’s condition during the operation, alerting the surgeon of any changes. • Assist the surgeon as they perform their duties, passing instruments and supplies as needed. • Position the patient correctly on the operating table. • Prepare and clean incision sites according to instructions. • Maintain a safe and clean environment for the patient and staff. • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. • Follow all departmental policies and procedures. • Document all relevant information related to the surgery. • Monitor and maintain equipment and instruments. • Remain up-to-date on the latest techniques and procedures in the field.
