
Staff Educator/ Nurse Educator

- Develop educational programs: Create, design, and implement educational programs that meet the learning needs of healthcare professionals at BJC HealthCare.
- Evaluate programs: Continuously assess the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary improvements to ensure they are meeting the desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify learning needs and develop educational initiatives to address these needs.
- Deliver presentations and workshops: Conduct presentations and training sessions to educate staff on various healthcare topics, including new procedures, protocols, and technologies.
- Stay updated on industry developments: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and evidence-based practices in healthcare education to ensure BJC HealthCare's educational programs are up-to-date and relevant.
- Mentor and coach staff: Provide support and guidance to staff to help them enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately improving patient care.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning: Encourage and inspire staff to participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to advance their knowledge and skills.
- Manage educational resources: Oversee the budget, materials, and resources for educational programs and ensure they are utilized effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor compliance: Ensure that all educational programs comply with regulatory and accreditation standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission.
- Collaborate with other departments: Work with other departments, such as Human Resources and Quality Improvement, to identify training needs and develop solutions to address them.
- Maintain records: Keep accurate records of educational programs, attendance, and evaluations for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Act as a role model: Set an example for staff by demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning, professionalism, and high-quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively: Maintain open and effective communication with all levels of staff, including nurses, physicians, and leadership, to promote a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field, With A Preference For A Master's Degree In Nursing Education Or A Related Specialty.
Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Missouri, Or Eligibility To Obtain One.
At Least 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Registered Nurse, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting Similar To Bjc Healthcare.
Strong Communication And Presentation Skills, With Experience In Developing And Delivering Educational Programs To Healthcare Professionals.
Familiarity With Adult Learning Principles And Instructional Design Methods, As Well As Proficiency In Using Technology And Multimedia Tools For Educational Purposes.
