Job Description

BJC HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Psychologist to join our team and provide compassionate and evidence-based care to our young patients.   1. Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for children and adolescents in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  2. Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment results and evidence-based practices.
  3. Provide individual and group therapy to children and their families, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  5. Educate and support parents and caregivers on strategies for managing their child's mental health needs.
  6. Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient sessions and treatment plans.
  8. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in pediatric psychology to continually enhance patient care.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input regarding patient care.
  10. Serve as an advocate for children and their families, promoting awareness and understanding of mental health issues.
  11. Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and their families as needed.
  12. Collaborate with community resources and organizations to enhance support for patients and their families.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of mental health services.
  14. Actively participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and expand knowledge and skills related to pediatric psychology.
  15. Embody the mission, vision, and values of BJC HealthCare in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • A Doctoral Degree In Clinical Psychology Or Counseling Psychology With A Specialization In Child And Adolescent Psychology.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Working With Pediatric Populations, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Current Licensure As A Psychologist In The State Of Missouri, Or Ability To Obtain Licensure Within 6 Months Of Hire.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Child Development, Pediatric Mental Health Disorders, And Evidence-Based Treatment Interventions.

  • Ability To Collaborate And Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals, To Provide Comprehensive Care To Pediatric Patients.
