- Provide emotional support and guidance to pediatric patients and their families during their healthcare journey.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' social, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Connect patients and families with appropriate community resources and support services.
- Advocate for patients' rights and needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
- Educate patients and families about their healthcare options and help them make informed decisions.
- Offer counseling and therapy services to patients and families as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient care and facilitate coordination of services.
- Stay up-to-date on current social work practices and techniques related to pediatric care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, as well as colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during challenging situations for patients and families.
- Promote a positive and welcoming environment for patients and families.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and other organizations to ensure patients have access to necessary resources.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care to pediatric patients.
Master's Degree In Social Work With A Focus On Pediatric Care Or Child And Family Therapy.
At Least Two Years Of Experience Working With Pediatric Patients, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Child Development And The Impact Of Illness Or Injury On Children And Their Families.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
Experience In Providing Emotional Support And Counseling To Children And Families Coping With Medical Issues And Navigating Complex Healthcare Systems.
