If so, BJC HealthCare is looking for you to join our team as a Patient Transporter!As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transfer of patients throughout our healthcare facilities. Your responsibilities will include transporting patients to and from various departments, assisting with patient transfers, and maintaining accurate records of patient transport.To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting. You should also possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a team.   1. Safely transport patients to and from various departments within the healthcare facility.
  2. Assist patients with transfers to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
  3. Maintain accurate records of patient transport, including tracking time and destination of each transport.
  4. Follow proper infection control procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of patients during transport.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare staff to provide a positive and comfortable experience.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping transport equipment sanitized and in good working condition.
  7. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while transporting patients, including proper body mechanics and safe handling of equipment.
  8. Report any issues or concerns with patient transport to appropriate personnel.
  9. Attend all required training and educational sessions to stay updated on patient transport procedures and protocols.
  10. Foster a culture of compassion, respect, and professionalism while interacting with patients and their families.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure timely and efficient patient transport.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Valid Driver's License And A Clean Driving Record.

  • Experience In Patient Transport Or Customer Service In A Healthcare Setting Preferred.

  • Basic Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Familiarity With Hospital Procedures.

  • Ability To Lift And Maneuver Up To 50 Pounds And Push/Pull Heavy Objects Or Stretchers.
