- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance billing and claims.
- Collect co-payments and fees from patients.
- Provide information about healthcare services, facilities, and policies to patients and visitors.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
- Handle patient complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Use computer systems and software to enter and retrieve patient information.
- Adhere to all BJC HealthCare policies and procedures.
- Attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on new procedures, technology, and policies.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and patient satisfaction.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Follow safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Excellent Communication Skills: A Patient Service Representative Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Essential For A Patient Service Representative To Accurately Record And Relay Information To Patients And Healthcare Providers.
