
Patient Care Technician - Oncology
As a Patient Care Technician for BJC HealthCare's Oncology department, you will be a crucial part of our patient-centric and compassionate team of healthcare professionals. We are looking for a passionate individual with a commitment to providing excellent patient care. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care as well as monitoring vital signs, executing treatments, and providing emotional support for our oncology patients. The successful candidate should have strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations with a positive attitude. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of medical terminology, be comfortable working with oncology patients, and possess a CNA or Certified Patient Care Technician certification.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and offering emotional support.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, as well as members of the healthcare team.
- Handle stressful situations with a positive outlook and empathy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and oncology treatments.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- Possess a CNA or Certified Patient Care Technician certification.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills
High School Diploma Or Ged
Cpr Certification
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting
Certified Patient Care Technician (Cpct) Or Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Certification
Knowledge Of Oncology Treatments
