Job Description

At BJC HealthCare, we are committed to providing the highest level of compassionate and comprehensive care to our nephrology patients. We are looking for a Patient Care Tech – Nephrology with the qualifications and commitment to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong patient care skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and the drive to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients. The Patient Care Tech – Nephrology will assist the nursing staff in providing direct care to the nephrology patients and will participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans. The ideal candidate must possess an associate degree in nursing or a related field and have at least one year of relevant experience in a nephrology setting. Additionally, the successful candidate must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the nursing staff in providing direct care to nephrology patients.
  2. Participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
  3. Provide patient assessments and communicate patient information to other healthcare team members.
  4. Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the appropriate medical staff.
  5. Assist in the administration of medications, treatments, and procedures as directed by the nursing staff.
  6. Ensure that all patient care activities are performed in adherence to the standards of care established by BJC HealthCare.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  9. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current on best practices and standards of care.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting

  • Knowledge Of Basic Medical Terminology

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Certification

  • Ability To Lift And Maneuver Patients
