BJC HealthCare is seeking an experienced and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients in need of healthcare services. You will provide an exceptional customer experience to all patients by ensuring that they receive the care they need in a timely and efficient manner.The ideal candidate for this position must have excellent customer service skills, an aptitude for understanding complex healthcare systems, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping others. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital, clinic, or doctor’s office, is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required. We are eager to find the right individual who takes pride in their work and will strive to make a positive impact on our patients’ experiences.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner.
  2. Listen to patient inquiries, assess their needs, and provide accurate information regarding services and resources.
  3. Collect patient information, including insurance coverage and financial documents.
  4. Schedule appointments and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed.
  5. Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Ensure that all patient data is entered accurately and securely into the database.
  7. Maintain a current understanding of health care policies and regulations.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  10. Assist with any other tasks as assigned.
