Job Description

  1. Provide compassionate and skilled healthcare to orthopedic and trauma patients.
  2. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including orthopedic surgeons and trauma specialists to deliver comprehensive care.
  3. Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of orthopedic and trauma conditions.
  4. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  6. Administer medications and perform procedures as needed.
  7. Educate patients and their families on treatment options and self-care techniques.
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in orthopedic and trauma care.
  11. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
  12. Adhere to professional standards and ethical codes.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  14. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  15. Attend trainings and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills in orthopedic and trauma care.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Nursing: A Nurse Practitioner At Bjc Healthcare Must Have A Master's Or Doctorate Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Orthopedics Or Trauma. This Advanced Education Equips Them With The Knowledge And Skills Needed To Excel In This Role.

  • Certification As A Nurse Practitioner: Bjc Healthcare Requires All Nurse Practitioners To Be Certified By A Recognized National Certifying Body Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The American Academy Of Nurse Practitioners (Aanp).

  • Clinical Experience In Orthopedics Or Trauma: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In Orthopedics Or Trauma Care. This Experience Should Include Diagnosing And Treating A Wide Range Of Musculoskeletal Injuries And Conditions.

  • Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills: As A Nurse Practitioner At Bjc Healthcare, Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills Are Essential For Building Rapport With Patients And Collaborating With Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • State Licensure: All Nurse Practitioners At Bjc Healthcare Must Hold A Valid State License To Practice As An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Aprn). This Includes Meeting All State-Specific Requirements For Education, Certification, And Continuing Education.
