  1. Conduct music therapy sessions with patients, utilizing a variety of musical and therapeutic techniques to address their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
  2. Create individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  4. Communicate regularly with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on treatment progress and recommendations.
  5. Collaborate with other therapists and healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment approaches for patients.
  6. Stay current with research and developments in the field of music therapy to continually improve treatment techniques and approaches.
  7. Create a safe and welcoming environment for patients, ensuring their comfort and privacy during therapy sessions.
  8. Advocate for the use of music therapy in patient care and educate others on its benefits and effectiveness.
  9. Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the American Music Therapy Association and BJC HealthCare.
  10. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, colleagues, and the organization as a whole.
  12. Represent BJC HealthCare and the music therapy profession in a positive and knowledgeable manner.
  13. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional care and making a positive impact in the lives of patients through music therapy.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Music Therapy From An Accredited University Or College.

  • Certification By The Certification Board For Music Therapists (Cbmt).

  • Knowledge And Proficiency In A Variety Of Musical Instruments And Techniques.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Teams.
