  1. Accurately calculate and deliver radiation doses for cancer patients as part of the treatment planning process.
  2. Utilize technical skills and knowledge of radiation therapy to provide high-quality and effective treatment plans.
  3. Work closely with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  4. Ensure all treatment plans meet safety standards and are in compliance with established protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatment plans and dosimetry calculations.
  6. Continuously monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  7. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in radiation therapy technology and techniques.
  8. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding radiation therapy and treatment plans.
  9. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  10. Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines related to radiation therapy.
  11. Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and processes.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  14. Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Dosimetry Or Related Field: Bjc Healthcare Requires All Medical Dosimetrists To Have A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Dosimetry Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) Certification: Bjc Healthcare Requires All Medical Dosimetrists To Have Current Certification From The Arrt In Radiation Therapy.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Medical Dosimetrist: Bjc Healthcare Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience As A Medical Dosimetrist In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Treatment Planning And Radiation Therapy Equipment: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning Techniques And Be Able To Operate And Troubleshoot Various Radiation Therapy Equipment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Medical Dosimetrists At Bjc Healthcare Work Closely With Physicians, Radiation Therapists, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effective Collaboration And Patient Care.
