- Oversee the daily operations of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of results to patients and physicians, adhering to established protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain and update laboratory procedures, equipment, and technology to meet industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze laboratory data and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement training programs for laboratory staff to ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services with other healthcare operations.
- Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate levels and appropriate use to minimize waste and control costs.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development among staff.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and resolve any issues or concerns related to laboratory services.
- Stay current on industry developments, trends, and best practices to continuously improve laboratory operations and services.
- Serve as a liaison between the laboratory, administration, and other departments to facilitate communication and address any issues or concerns.
- Provide regular reports and updates to upper management on laboratory performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission, values, and goals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work culture.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In Anatomic Pathology
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) Through Ascp Or Equivalent
Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Proficiency In Histology, Cytology, And Molecular Techniques
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With Previous Supervisory Experience In A Laboratory Setting Preferred.
