  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely collection, labeling, and processing of specimens.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
  4. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues as needed.
  5. Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare team members, and laboratory staff.
  7. Adhere to all HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  8. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  12. Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  13. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
  14. Maintain a professional and caring attitude towards patients and colleagues.
  15. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in phlebotomy techniques and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: A Lab Associate - Phlebotomy At Bjc Healthcare Should Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Be Familiar With Various Laboratory Equipment, Including Centrifuges, Microscopes, And Spectrophotometers.

  • Experience In Phlebotomy: Bjc Healthcare Seeks Candidates With At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Collection And Handling.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Lab Associate - Phlebotomy, Attention To Detail Is Crucial. The Candidate Should Be Able To Accurately Label And Record Specimens, Follow Strict Protocols, And Maintain A High Level Of Accuracy In All Tasks.
