Responsibilities of a Phlebotomy Lab Associate:
• Perform blood draws, skin punctures, and other related procedures on patients according to established protocols.
• Follow proper safety and infection control procedures in order to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and results.
• Follow all laboratory policies and procedures.
• Maintain the laboratory in a neat and orderly manner.
• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and order replacements as needed.
• Provide patient education and support.
• Ensure specimen collection is performed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Utilize good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and other healthcare professionals.
• Respond to any inquiries or requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow up on incomplete laboratory results and contact physicians as necessary.
