  1. Dispensing Medications: Accurately and efficiently dispense medications to inpatients according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Medication Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of medication inventory to ensure availability for patient needs.
  3. Patient Safety: Ensure the safe and effective delivery of medications by following proper labeling, storage, and verification procedures.
  4. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  5. Adhere to Regulations and Standards: Follow all state and federal regulations, as well as BJC HealthCare policies and procedures, to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  6. Maintain Records: Accurately document all medication-related activities, including dispensing, inventory management, and patient information.
  7. Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and healthcare staff with a positive and professional attitude.
  8. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry developments and participate in training and educational opportunities to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  9. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, such as medication error reporting and audits, to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care.
  10. Maintain a Clean and Organized Workspace: Keep work areas clean and organized to promote a safe and efficient work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Position At Bjc Healthcare Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification: Bjc Healthcare Requires All Inpatient Pharmacy Technicians To Have A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht) From A Recognized Organization Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb). This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Competency In Pharmacy Operations And Procedures.
