  1. Review and analyze inpatient coding data to identify areas of improvement and ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Develop and implement coding quality improvement initiatives to enhance overall coding performance and maintain high standards of quality.
  3. Collaborate with the coding team to provide education and training on coding updates and changes.
  4. Conduct regular audits of inpatient coding records to ensure compliance with coding standards and guidelines.
  5. Communicate coding discrepancies and provide feedback to coding staff to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Stay updated on coding regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance and make necessary adjustments to coding practices.
  7. Monitor and report on coding quality metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss coding-related issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  9. Work closely with other departments, such as billing and compliance, to ensure accurate and timely coding and billing practices.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all privacy and security regulations.
  11. Serve as a resource for coding inquiries and provide guidance and support to coding staff.
  12. Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to address any coding-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  13. Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve coding processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  15. Uphold and promote the organization's mission, values, and standards of excellence in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From Ahima.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Inpatient Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm And Pcs Coding Guidelines And Principles.

  • Proficient In Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.

  • Experience With Coding Compliance Audits And Knowledge Of Coding Compliance Regulations.
